Die Klavitoniker,

… an accordion ensemble from Salzburg that was set up in the year 2005. “What an enormous timbre and multifarious sound is behind it!” - that’s what some of the audience is asking. The formula is quite simple: Just take an instrument called “Accordion” and “Accordionists”, who are able to play this instrument; everything should be round off with a portion of a good repertoire and the result is the accordion ensemble Klavitoniker.

The ensemble is playing music from different directions. It varies from classical, modern, jazz up to avant-garde – there are almost no limits. Some pieces of the repertoire are transcriptions, but also special literature for accordion.

The artists of Klavitoniker – Marek Suchan, Robert Ebner, Horst Tanzer, Birgit Lang, Verena Rosenzweig and Dominik Leitner – are members of the accordion orchestra “Viel-Harmonie” from Salzburg and they decided to put their accordion skills to the test. The conviction and the engagement of the artists were rewarded with awards at competitions – for example the first price at the „22. Österreichischen Wettbewerb für Akkordeon Solo, Duo, Ensemble, Kammermusik und Orchester“ organized from Harmonikaverband Österreich as well as the first price at the „Bayrischen Meisterschaften“ in Bad Reichenhall 2005 and in Günzburg 2006, and also the 9th price at the international competition in Italy „Citta di Castelfidardo“.

Most important is that during each concert Klavitoniker are impressing the autidence and filling them with enthusiasm.
